Post Commander
Barry Larrain – Barry retired from the U.S. Army with 34 years of service. He is an American Legion Life Member, and has been a member of Post 134 for 14 years. While in uniform he deployed to Vietnam, Okinawa, Bosnia-Herzegovina, and Iraq. As the Commander, Barry is committed to advancing the ideals envisioned by the founders when Post 134 was chartered in 1947, “Help our veterans and their families to strive for the principles for which our sons gave their lives for their country.”
Post Adjutant
Patrick Bardel – Patrick is a Marine Veteran, who served in the Marine Corps Field Artillery. He is an alumnus of the University of Oregon and Portland State University. Patrick is a native Oregonian and has been a member of F&J Ravin Post #134 for four years.
Sergeant At Arms
Brian Lawler – Brian is a US Navy veteran, having served 20 years in a variety of duty stations across the world. He was forward deployed in support of Operation DESERT SHIELD and DESERT STORM. After serving in uniform, he transitioned to a career appointment with the US Fish and Wildlife Service as the Public Civil Rights Program Manager for the Bureau of Reclamation. He is a graduate of Portland State University’s Executive Master of Public Administration program. He is an active member of Boy Scouts of America (BSA) Troops 117 & 5117, serving as the Assistant Scoutmaster. One of the his goals is to build a stronger relationship between the young men of BSA Troop 117, women of BSA Troop 5117 and Post 134.
Finance Officer
Bruce Townley – Bruce retired from the US Army as a Master Sergeant with 29 years of service and deployments to Afghanistan and Iraq. He worked full time for the Oregon Army National Guard at Camp Withycombe in an administrative capacity from 2007 until retirement in early 2023. In 1983 Bruce graduated from Pacific University after which he was employed primarily in sales and business management. Bruce and his wife Jill call Southeast Portland home.
